Close To Class

Save time on your daily commutes when you live at our UofSC off-campus housing community! For busy college students, nothing is more valuable than your time. As you are juggling social obligations, student organization meetings, and assignment deadlines, you don’t have time to spend on searching for nearby convenience stores, or hunting down available parking, or even fighting rush-hour traffic on the way to campus. Fortunately, Saga Columbia resolves this all-too-common student dilemma. With grocery stores, local restaurants, and the University of South Carolina campus nearby, students are never far from what they need!

Easy Commutes

Whether you prefer to walk, bike, drive, or take advantage of paid or public transportation services to get around campus and the greater Columbia area, Saga Columbia makes it easy.

Walking

Walking is by far the most popular method of transportation among our international student residents. If you live at Saga Columbia, you can reach much of USC’s academic core in as little as 5 to 15 minutes. Nearby destinations include the international student office, libraries, recreation center, and most student services.

Campus/Carolina Shuttles

The University of South Carolina operates several free shuttle routes that connect residence areas, parking lots, libraries, and academic buildings. They are especially helpful on hot summer days, or when you have classes in the furthest buildings on campus.

COMET Busses

COMET is the city-wide transportation system operated by the city of Columbia. USC students can ride COMET fixed-route buses at no additional cost with a valid CarolinaCard through the university’s transit partnership. This is useful for trips to grocery stores, shopping centers, internships, and other destinations around the city. There are multiple COMET bus stops within a short walk of our property.

Biking

Bikes and e-scooters are also popular among USC international students. Since campus is relatively flat and compact, many students bike or rent electric scooters to make quick trips between classes and home.

Cars

While international students don’t typically bring cars to college, ride-hailing services such as Uber and Lyft are frequently used for quick rides to town, the airport, and campus.
